Whether it be your main sewer line or main water line, a break in either is cause for concern. When the pipeline breaks it is either sending your drinking water or your wastewater out into your lawn. This is a waste of water and could potentially be dangerous if contaminated with sewage.
If you’ve noticed a drop in water pressure without you changing anything, this could be a sign that a water pipe is leaking.
Malfunctioning Drain Field
Your drain field is the last stop for wastewater after it is treated in your septic system. The water moves out of the tank and into the drain field before being released into the environment.
Sometimes when it rains, the excess water combined with your home wastewater is too much for the drain field. Instead of a slow leach, it pools and collects on the surface. If the puddles only come around with rain, there’s likely not much to worry about. But if you notice this problem even when it’s dry, there’s likely an issue with the pipe leading to your drain field.
